AWS is the consistent leader in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant
Amazon Web Services has consistently topped Gartner’s Magic Quadrant, appearing in the “Leaders” quadrant for Cloud Infrastructure as a Service (IAAS), Worldwide, for six straight years. Gartner has named AWS as having both the furthest completeness of vision and the highest ability to execute.
Gartner’s Magic Quadrant defines cloud compute IaaS as a standardized, highly automated offering, where compute resources, complemented by storage and networking capabilities, are owned by a service provider and offered to the customer on demand.
Cloud IaaS includes not just the resources themselves, but also the automated management of those resources, management tools delivered as services, and cloud software infrastructure services. The Magic Quadrant strongly emphasizes self-service and automation in a standardized environment.
One of the reasons why AWS has been able to outperform competition is the strong focus on customers. AWS invests in customer success through an accelerated pace of innovation. AWS focuses on helping customers to operate efficiently at massive scale, enabling customers to transform their existing businesses at a pace that cannot be duplicated with traditional infrastructure alternatives.
AWS continuously invests in creating new services and works with customers to build reliable, resilient architectures which are highly automated and self-healing.
According to Gartner, AWS has a diverse customer base and the broadest range of use cases, including enterprise and mission-critical applications. This has enabled AWS to attract an ecosystem of open-source tools, along with more than a thousand technology partners that have licensed and packaged their software to run on AWS, have integrated their software with AWS capabilities, or deliver add-on services.
Gartner finds AWS to be a mature provider. Yet, says Gartner, AWS remains agile, innovative thought leader with a broad impact across a range of IT markets. It continues to rapidly expand its service offerings and to offer higher-level solutions.
There has been rapid adoption of AWS services in India, specifically after the launch of AWS datacentre in India in July, 2016.
