01. Key Requirement
Safeducate is a specialist supply chain & logistics training and skilling company of Safexpress. The company aims to promote the cause of supply chain management among the young generation, combining domain training with real-world practical application. Safexpress was looking to deploy its new website Safeducate on cloud.
The company required a highly available and secure platform which is secure, reliable and scalable and which could ensure a highly satisfactory user experience. Safeducate offers a combination of online and offline training and it was a business imperative to have an available and scalable platform at all times.
Initially the customer evaluated other platforms including Azure, Netmagic and CtrlS and then decided to go with Amazon Web Services after a successful pilot.
02. Deployment and Business Objectives
Safeducate training platform is now live and the customer is happy with the deployment as it meets with the business objective of having a high performing and reliable infrastructure. Customer has deployed its application on Amazon servers and plans to scale its operations in a phased manner.
Says Sanjeeva Kumar, Senior Manager IT at Safexpress, “Since our courses have online modules which require students to conduct sessions and tests online, we required a highly stable, reliable and scalable platform. We are happy that AWS has delivered on all our business objectives.”
Safexpress embarked on its Cloud journey in a smart way by first exploring AWS Glacier, which provides archival services. After successfully exporting its assets, Safexpress decided to host its business-critical application. One of the best practice in cloud migration is to begin with low hanging fruits—applications and assets which do not have too many internal connections.
After establishing that an online interactive application works well in the Cloud environment, Safeducate is exploring to migrate its ERP application which is a complex and highly connected application to AWS Cloud.
